NATIONAL VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

Brief details of the NVQs offered by the Workforce Development Department are listed below: 

 

Management Level 4

Suitable for department managers who have responsibility for the work of supervisors and a team of people reporting to the supervisor.  Duration of approximately 18 months.

 

Nine units made up of five mandatory units covering

  • Managing Activities
  • Contribute to Improvements
  • Develop Resources
  • Develop Working Relationships
  • Provide Information

and four optional units from a range of 12.

Management Level 3

Suitable for ‘first line’ managers who have responsibility for a team of people.  Duration of approximately 12 months.

 

Seven units made up of five mandatory units covering

  • Maintain Activities
  • Support Use of Resources
  • Manage Yourself
  • Create Effective Working Relationships
  • Manage Information

and two optional units from a range of eight.

Team Leader Level 2

 

Suitable for ‘senior operative’ who has day to day responsibility for team of people but is responsible to first line manager.  Duration of approximately 12 months.

 

Six units made up of four mandatory units covering

  • Organise and Improve Team Work
  • Health and Safety
  • Maintain and Develop Working Relationships
  • Organise and Communicate Information

and two optional units from a range of five.

Customer Service Level 3

 

Suitable for customer service adviser who has some line management responsibility.  Duration of approximately 12 months.

 

Six units made up of five mandatory units covering

  • Deliver Reliable Customer Service
  • Improve Customer Relationships
  • Work with Others
  • Monitor and Solve Customer Service Problems
  • Promote Continuous Improvement

and one optional unit from a range of three.

Administration Level 3

 

Suitable for senior person who carries out administrative functions with some line management responsibility.

 

Nine units made up of five mandatory units covering

  • Maintain Working Relationships
  • Health and Safety
  • Manage own Work
  • Co-ordinate Administrative Services
  • Research
  • Prepare and Present Information

and four optional units from a range of 25.

All qualifications are delivered in company on a one to one basis with ongoing assessment and support.  A portfolio of written work and copies of documentary evidence are required for final assessments for each NVQ.
