| The Level 3 Techincal Certificate in: The Principles and Practice of Textile Technology has been designed to give students a good working knowledge of general textile technology. |
| The Course consists of 7 modules: |
| - Fibres & Yarns |
| - Woven Fabrics |
| - Knitted Fabrics |
| - Non-Woven Structures, Carpets & Technical Textiles |
| - Textile Finishing, Coating & Laminating |
| - Dyeing & Printing |
| - Quality Systems & Testing |
Delivery Arrangements: For 2008 the Technical Certificate course has been redesigned to increase the flexibility of delivery, align content more closely to individual company requirements and to reduce the amount of time away from the workplace.
The Course is deliveried over 12 months and students can join the course at any time during the year.

The learning time will include: |
| - lecture sessions & tutorials. 1 day-release sessions (1 every 4 weeks) delivered at the Textile Centre of Excellence (69 tutor contact hrs) |
| - computer based learning |
| - practical sessions |
| - assignment work |
| - directed learning/self study |
Qualification
On successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded the Level 3 Technical Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Textile Technology. This qualification is awarded by the City and Guilds Insitute. The qualification will open up opportunties to progress to higher level qualifications including Foundation and Honours Level Degree courses.
Price
The Technical Certificate forms part of the Textile Manufacturing Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Programme. For learners undertaking the Advanced Apprenticeship, the Technical Certificate course is provided FREE of CHARGE.
Non- Apprenticeship students from TCoE Member Companies can receive the full Technical Certificate course for £150 + VAT.

- assumes the TCoE can draw down a subsidy for training.
