The following vacancy is being advertised on behalf of James Heal:

Textile Technician (12 month – Fixed Term Contract)
Salary £17-18k
Flexible working hours (option to finish at 12:30 on Fridays)
39 hours per week

James Heal is a leading manufacturer of testing instruments to the textile industry. Manufacturing everything on-site in Halifax and selling to customers around the world. We are looking for a Textile Technician to work on a fixed term 12 month contract to work on a number of activities including but not limited to:

  • A mixture of physical routine testing on Test Materials Centre products
  • Colour fastness testing
  • To provide accurate test reports
  • To Provide support with the testing of new and modified products as required
  • Testing for compliance with ISO standards
  • The opportunity to take part in product development activities.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Experience in working with fabrics, yarns & chemicals, and some experience of working in testing laboratories
  • Have excellent colour vision
