The following vacancy is being advertised on behalf of James Heal:

Textile Technician (12 month – Fixed Term Contract)
Salary £17-18k
Flexible working hours (option to finish at 12:30 on Fridays)
39 hours per week
25 days per year holiday

James Heal is a leading manufacturer of testing instruments to the textile industry. Manufacturing everything on-site in Halifax and selling to customers around the world. We are the exception to the rule – we manufacture in the UK and sell to China, not the other way round! We were rewarded for this exceptional feat last year, receiving the Queen’s Award for International Trade.

We are looking for a Textile Technician to work on a fixed term 12 month contract to work on a number of activities including but not limited to:

  • A mixture of physical routine testing on Test Materials Centre products
  • Colour fastness testing
  • To provide accurate test reports
  • To Provide support with the testing of new and modified products as required
  • Testing for compliance with ISO standards
  • The opportunity to take part in product development activities.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Experience in working with fabrics, yarns & chemicals, and some experience of working in testing laboratories
  • Have excellent colour vision
  • The ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and tenacity are key requirements for this role.

Working hours: 37.5; Holiday 20day plus statutory, one extra day for each year of service up
to 5 years.

Mobus Fabrics Ltd are a leading UK fabric supplier, servicing upholstery manufactures in Europe,
China and the USA. We are looking for a Textile Technician who can be part of our team working
alongside the Directors to develop our Technical and FR Due-diligence programmes both in the UK
